Charles Lollar is a man on a mission. His goal is to have Maryland
legislators be accountable to state citizens for the fiscal and social
policies they make. "The time for Marylanders to come to grips
with the economic impacts of runaway taxes and spending is long overdue,"
said Mr. Lollar.
Currently, state and county officials have an enormous amount of discretion
when it comes to spending the revenues generated by tax dollars. Mr.
Lollar's fiscally conservative approach demands responsibility of
these elected officials. He insists that taxpayers should not be made
to turn over so many of their "family funds," because he
recognizes that families are in a better position than government
to determine their needs. "We need a balanced budget with fair
cuts across the board…just as we all are tightening our belts
at home, the State should be doing the same."
Mr. Lollar's personal philosophy stems from his extensive education
culminating in an MBA from Regent University and his years as a manager
for UPS and, currently, as a manager for Cintas Corporation. As a
husband and father himself, he understands the concerns of families.
He has proudly served his country as a Marine in Kosovo and continues
to serve in a reserve capacity as an Intelligence Analyst at the Pentagon
with the rank of Major.
Charles has been an executive member of the Cobb County, Ga., Republican
Party, Chairman of the Charles County Central Committee, Executive
Board member of Leadership Maryland, Maryland Chamber of Commerce,
